We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role is well suited for an experienced accounting specialist who can manage detailed financial activities, contribute to an efficient close process, and maintain accurate reporting in a regulated environment. The position offers the chance to work across key accounting functions while partnering with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial processes and controls.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post complex journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and on schedule.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations for general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Lead or actively support the monthly close process, helping maintain deadlines and reporting accuracy.
  • Develop, review, and distribute accounting schedules and financial reports related to multiple operational areas.
  • Analyze accounting data and compile supporting documentation for audits, regulatory requests, and other reporting needs.
  • Verify that transactions are properly documented and aligned with applicable accounting standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance to team members and internal partners on accounting processes, reporting expectations, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and internal controls, and recommend updates to improve effectiveness.
  • Assist with accounting system enhancements, user support, and training to improve the quality and usefulness of financial information.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders by delivering accurate and thorough accounting support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 4 years of accounting experience; equivalent experience may also be considered.

  • Strong hands-on experience with month-end close activities in a corporate accounting environment.

  • Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting, including the preparation and review of journal entries.

  • Proven ability to complete account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.

  • Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audit or regulatory documentation requests.

  • Understanding of internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance-focused documentation practices.

  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented accounting certification preferred.
