About the Role Robert Half is seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant for a contract role based in Reno, Nevada. The position supports core accounting operations and a smooth month-end close within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger, reconciliations, and payroll-related support experience. What You'll Do
- Oversee daily accounting activities to ensure records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
- Lead month-end closing tasks, including reviewing balances and resolving discrepancies on schedule.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to support accurate financial reporting.
- Complete bank reconciliations and ensure cash activity is properly recorded and matched.
- Assist with payroll processing support and verify related accounting entries for accuracy.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and support internal reporting needs.
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to improve efficiency across routine accounting processes. What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with responsibility for general ledger activities.
- Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and journal entry preparation.
- Hands-on experience performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and resolve accounting variances effectively.
- Familiarity with payroll-related accounting support and financial record maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and standard financial reporting tools. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: 38 - 44 USD per hour.
