Robert Half – Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing finance team in a contract capacity with the potential to become permanent. This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of core accounting work, and help strengthen the month-end close process through accurate execution and clear documentation. The position is primarily focused on hands-on accounting at the outset, with the opportunity to contribute more analytical support over time as you become established in the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activity and maintain accurate financial records across assigned accounts.

• Prepare journal entries, including recurring entries, reclassifications, and revenue-related adjustments, to support timely month-end close.

• Perform detailed account and bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Support the month-end close cycle by completing key accounting tasks and helping improve the overall close workflow.

• Document accounting procedures and reconciliation processes so responsibilities can be transitioned and performed consistently across the team.

• Assist with revenue recognition activities and ensure supporting entries are recorded in alignment with established policies.

• Review and organize financial data movements between entities or reporting categories as needed for accurate presentation.

• Partner with internal team members to learn existing processes, identify gaps, and provide dependable day-to-day accounting support.

• Strong experience in senior-level accounting roles with direct responsibility for month-end close activities.

• Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation practices.

• Proven ability to complete bank reconciliations and research issues independently.

• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work efficiently with detailed financial data.

• Experience documenting accounting processes and creating clear procedural guidance.

• Ability to adapt quickly, absorb existing workflows, and work with minimal supervision.

• NetSuite experience is preferred, though candidates with strong overall accounting systems experience will be considered.
