Job Title: SQL Developer

Type: 12-month contract to start

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Schedule: Onsite Tuesday-Thursdays. Remote Monday and Fridays

Position Overview

We are seeking two SQL Developers to support the modernization of existing customer-data and reporting processes.

The resources will work closely with the Database Engineer and internal team to take processes currently relying heavily on Alteryx and flat files and move appropriate data, transformation and calculation logic into a more structured Oracle database environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Alteryx workflows, SQL logic and flat-file reporting processes.

• Develop Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code, including stored procedures that consolidate duplicated logic and implement suitable Alteryx and flat-file transformations within Oracle.

• Determine which Alteryx transformations are appropriate to retain and which can be sustainably moved into Oracle/database procedures.

• Convert appropriate flat-file-based processes into structured database tables and processes.

• Validate converted results against existing outputs through record-count checks, reconciliation of totals, and verification of calculations, filters, rounding rules, and historical treatment.

• Reduce redundant ingestion, processing and transformations across existing workflows.

• Support the customer segmentation and/or accounts receivable reporting workstreams.

• Help create historically trackable datasets supporting trending and future analysis.

• Maintain relationships between datasets so customer information can be analyzed holistically.

• Support data consumed by Power BI and other downstream reporting.

• Thoroughly document:

• Source-to-target mappings and data lineage.

• Procedural and transformation logic.

• Calculations, filters, and rounding rules.

• Historical tracking and retention logic.

• Data relationships and source locations.

• Business definitions and interpretation of reporting outputs.

• Help create transparent processes that business stakeholders can understand and trust.

• Required Skills

• Demonstrated hands-on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience, including stored procedures, complex queries, and data transformation logic.

• Alteryx experience, including the ability to understand and review existing workflows.

• Experience working with relational databases and structured datasets.

• Experience transitioning data/processes from flat-file-based workflows into database structures.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong technical documentation skills.

• Relevant / Preferred Experience

• Power BI experience.

• Data transformation / ETL experience.

• Accounts receivable, billing or financial reporting data experience.

• Customer segmentation/customer analytics experience.

• Experience working with historical/trending datasets.

• Experience reviewing complex existing workflows and identifying duplication or opportunities for simplification.
