About the Role Nemak is seeking an SPS Programmer / Automation Engineer to develop, adapt, and optimize PLC programs (e.g., Siemens S7, TIA-Portal), commission and troubleshoot automation systems, and support the introduction of new production lines and technologies. You will create technical documentation and instructions, ensure plant availability through continuous optimization, and collaborate with internal departments as well as external partners and suppliers. You will also train production staff to operate automated systems.
What You'll Do
- Develop, adapt, and optimize SPS programs (e.g., Siemens S7, TIA-Portal) for automated production lines
- Commission, test, and perform fault analysis on automation systems
- Assist with the rollout of new production equipment and technologies
- Create technical documentation and user guides
- Ensure plant availability through continuous optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers
- Train and onboard production staff in handling automated systems
What We're Looking For
- Completed apprenticeship or degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, or related qualification
- Several years of experience in SPS programming, preferably in an industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of Siemens S7 / TIA-Portal; ABB systems experience advantageous; knowledge in drive technology (Siemens Sinamics, SEW), sensors, and safety technology (Siemens and Pilz)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Good English skills
- Analytical mindset, team spirit, and a structured, solution-oriented work style
Nice to Have
- Experience with ABB systems
- Familiarity with Pilz safety technology
