Job Description:
The Sports Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering structured sports training programmes that prepare students for the school's Inter-House Sports Competition and other sporting events. The coach will identify and develop students' athletic abilities, promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants during training sessions and competitions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and train students for Inter-House Sports competitions.
- Develop and implement structured training programmes.
- Improve students' fitness, skills, and teamwork.
- Organize selection trials and practice sessions.
- Ensure safety during all sporting activities.
- Maintain sports equipment and training records.
- Promote discipline, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
- Assist in planning and coordinating school sports events.
Qualifications
- Minimum of OND/HND/Bachelor's Degree in Physical and Health Education (PHE), Sports Science, or a related field.
- Professional coaching certification is an added advantage.
- First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience coaching school-age athletes.
- Experience organizing or coaching students for Inter-House Sports competitions.
- Experience in athletics coaching is highly desirable.
