Specialist PLC Programmer

About the Role You will work as a Specialist PLC Programmer focusing on mechanical and electrical systems in production plants, with emphasis on PLC programming and driving efficiency through innovation projects. The role includes coordinating system connections to the MES cockpit and contributing to global CIP/ratio initiatives. What You'll Do

• Coordinate and implement connections of new assembly systems and legacy systems to the MES assembly cockpit.
• Implement and follow technical specifications for efficiency improvement projects focusing on mechanical and electrical systems with PLC programming.
• Provide advice, support, and troubleshooting for production issues related to automated optical tests (optical systems, cameras).
• Create specifications and work instructions; prepare feasibility studies related to mechanical and electrotechnical PLC systems.
• Participate in innovation or CIP/ratio projects in the production environment (global).
• Implement work packages for projects in the production area (global, CIP, ratio, optimization, modification, transfer).
• Largely independently procure purchased components for supervised work packages (in coordination with purchasing, suppliers, production).
• Create and develop technical standards with a focus on mechanical and electrotechnical PLC systems; prepare documentation for optimizations/modifications (circuit diagrams, programming, etc.).
• Derive technical standards and support MES terminal standards.
• Support qualification activities for modifications of automated systems and optical inspection systems.
• Manage and document technical standards for various MES terminals and equipment.
• Travel willingness for international assignments; initial month travel may be required. What We're Looking For
• Secondary school degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with further advanced training (e.g., industrial master craftsman, technician); at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in specification and implementation of electrotechnical systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge and many years of experience in PLC and HMI programming, primarily Siemens.
• Comprehensive knowledge in automation and electronics; robot programming (e.g., Epson, Yaskawa) and servo drive technology (Bosch-Rexroth, Festo).
• Good knowledge of standards (Machinery Directive, DIN EN 12100, ISO EN 13849).
• Troubleshooting methods in the production environment; qualification/validation of machines for medical/pharmaceutical products.
• Experience in software project management and in specifying/implementing optical inspection systems.
• Strong IT skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent spoken and written English; leadership, communication, and intercultural sensitivity; ability to work in an international environment.
• Strong prioritization, credibility, and teamwork; proactive, motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
