About this role
About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated Specialist IS Business Systems Analyst to support Amgen's Manufacturing Applications Product Team across custom applications for finite scheduling, predictive maintenance, and AI-enabled plant operations. The role focuses on eliciting, documenting, refining, and validating business requirements for manufacturing applications and translating plant needs into clear requirements that guide backlog prioritization and testing. You will partner with manufacturing SMEs, product owners, platform leads, developers, and external vendors to enable practical application delivery across the portfolio, including AI-enabled workflows such as Equipment Copilot and PlantPulse. What You'll Do
- Lead requirements elicitation and process discovery sessions with site SMEs and business stakeholders across the manufacturing scheduling and adjacent operations application portfolio.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and prioritized backlog items that can be executed by development and vendor teams, while simplifying requirements to reduce redundancy and identify automation opportunities.
- Partner with product owners, project managers, and delivery teams to maintain and prioritize the product backlog, support sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and defect triage.
- Assess enhancement requests and solution options with technical leads and vendors, including feasibility, business impact, rollout sequencing, and dependency management.
- Support application sustainment, enhancement, and lifecycle improvements across production scheduling applications used at multiple manufacturing sites.
- Coordinate requirements and testing for changes involving upstream and downstream manufacturing systems, data flows, and planning integrations.
- Document current-state and future-state workflows, business rules, master or reference data needs, and application behavior needed to scale the tools to new plants or use cases.
- Create and maintain business requirements, process documentation, test artifacts, training materials, and release documentation with clear traceability to business outcomes.
- Develop test plans and UAT scripts. What We're Looking For
- Strong business analysis background with experience eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements for manufacturing applications.
- Ability to translate plant needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and backlog items for development and vendor teams; experience with agile ceremonies such as backlog prioritization, sprint planning, demos, and defect triage.
- Collaboration skills with product owners, project managers, and delivery teams to manage backlogs and coordinate testing, deployments, and dependency management.
- Experience coordinating requirements and testing for changes involving upstream/downstream systems and data flows.
- Experience sustaining and evolving production scheduling applications across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to create test artifacts, training materials, and release documentation traceable to business outcomes. Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-assisted tools in day-to-day analysis, documentation, and delivery workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled plant operations tools (e.g., Equipment Copilot, PlantPulse) or similar manufacturing analytics platforms.
