About the Role L3Harris, Spectrum Superiority (S2), is seeking a highly skilled DMSMS Systems Engineer to analyze and mitigate the impact of obsolete and diminishing components on systems and products. You will identify alternative solutions, coordinate with suppliers, and help ensure continuity of supply to maintain performance, reliability, and availability. What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design and development of complex systems, ensuring alignment with specifications and requirements.
- Work in a multi-disciplined engineering development environment and manage time/resources to support multiple concurrent programs.
- Prepare and present technical data in customer reviews.
- Plan and execute system integration and testing activities to validate system performance and functionality.
- Analyze and interpret customer requirements, translating them into detailed system specifications and design documents.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architectures, design specifications, and test plans.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and mechanical engineers, to achieve project goals.
- Ensure all system designs and implementations comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with system performance.
- Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and milestone tracking to ensure timely completion of objectives.
- Note: Due to the nature of our work, candidates must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Travel on occasion is required. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience; In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Strong foundation in DMSMS management, obsolescence mitigation, systems engineering, and project management.
- In-depth knowledge of DMSMS principles, SAE-ARP-6272, government standards (SD-22), and best practices for mitigating obsolescence risks.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical information and make informed decisions.
- Experience with component selection, qualification, and substitution processes.
- Proficiency with DMSMS management tools, databases, and software (e.g., I.H.S., Silicon Expert).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive mindset to anticipate DMSMS challenges and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Willingness to travel and work in a team setting.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Nice to Have
- Proven experience in DMSMS management, obsolescence mitigation, systems engineering, and project management.
- Detailed knowledge of DMSMS principles, SAE-ARP-6272, SD-22, and related standards.
- Experience with component selection, qualification, and substitution processes.
