About the Role Join Prudential's Cyber Defense and Response team as a Data Security Specialist, supporting the Data Security Lead in executing quality control activities, monitoring controls, and strengthening the organization's data security posture while growing technical expertise. You will collaborate with platform owners, product teams, and business stakeholders to support implementation and QA of data security controls, assisting with assessments, documentation, reporting, and remediation tracking. What You'll Do
- Support quality control assessments of data security controls across cloud and on-premises platforms.
- Assist in validating the effectiveness of technical controls protecting sensitive data.
- Identify control gaps and track remediation activities.
- Review security control configurations for alignment with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain quality control documentation, procedures, and evidence for audits.
- Monitor changes to data security platforms and assist with ongoing control validation.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and metrics for leadership and stakeholders.
- Stay current on emerging data security technologies, threats, and industry trends.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data security processes and operational efficiency. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity and data security principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and business priorities.
- Familiarity with cloud and on-premises security technologies.
- Understanding of security controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Exposure to Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) is preferred.
- Experience supporting audits, documentation, or security assessments is a plus.
- Certifications: GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC); Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or pursuing); Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals; AWS Certified Security – Specialty. Nice to Have

- Salary range: $96,200 - $158,800 per year.
