About the Role Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. The position reports to the Assistant Director and focuses on coordinating educational and behavioral programming for students with developmental disabilities, specifically autism, enrolled at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center. The role involves partnering with a multidisciplinary team to support student learning and behavioral goals in an inclusive educational setting.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate educational and behavioral programming for students with developmental disabilities, specifically autism, enrolled at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center.
- Implement and monitor programming and supports to promote student progress in a collaborative setting.
- Work with teachers, therapists, and families to support student learning and behavior.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in team meetings and professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Special Education teaching license and experience serving students with developmental disabilities/ autism.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Knowledge of behavioral supports and data collection to monitor student progress.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a developmental disabilities center or similar clinical/educational settings.
- Familiarity with individualized planning and inclusive classroom strategies.
