About the Role The Spanish Speaking Parents as Teachers Family Home Visitor will partner with pregnant and parenting families in Hennepin County to provide emotional support, developmental guidance, and connections to community resources. The role uses the Parents as Teachers model to foster positive parent-child relationships and support caregiver growth.
What You'll Do
- Provide emotional support, developmental guidance, and connections to resources in the family's community.
- Create opportunities for positive parent-child interactions and support caregivers in identifying strengths and growth opportunities.
- Implement the Parents as Teachers model with fidelity and work within a home-based visiting setting.
- Collaborate with families and a supportive team to promote inclusive, family-centered care.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, child development, or related field.
- Fluency in Spanish (native speaker preferred) and ability to deliver services in Spanish.
- Strong relationship-building, self-awareness, curiosity, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependability, accountability to program outcomes, and strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Understanding of pregnancy/early parenting, infant and young child development, working across cultures, conflict resolution, and family-centered practice.
- Demonstrated skill in working with parents and young children in a home-based setting preferred.
- Experience providing home visiting services or community-based mental health services preferred.
