This position reports to: Procurement Manager
Your Role: Own the Challenge
As a Sourcing Project Manager, you will lead strategic sourcing, outsourcing, localization, and supplier transfer projects from initiation through successful production launch. You will play a critical role in ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, quality performance, and operational readiness by coordinating cross-functional teams and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
You will serve as the owner of the integrated project plan, driving execution, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment across Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Warehousing, and external suppliers.
The work model for the role is: On site
This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in ABB Monterrey 3.0 in Juarez.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, outsourcing, localization, and supplier transfer projects from initiation through production launch.
- Manage project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, resources, and stakeholder alignment.
- Coordinate RFQ processes, supplier evaluations, cost analysis, and supplier selection.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and suppliers.
- Ensure successful supplier industrialization, APQP/PPAP completion, production readiness, and launch execution.
- Monitor project performance through KPIs related to cost savings, quality, delivery, lead time, and project milestones.
- Maintain project governance, reporting, dashboards, and executive communications using tools such as Power BI, SAP, and Microsoft 365.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, supplier development, manufacturing, or project management within a manufacturing environment.

Experience leading cross-functional projects involving Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and suppliers.

Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, RFQ processes, supplier selection, negotiations, and cost analysis.

Experience with supplier development, APQP/PPAP, manufacturing readiness, and production launches.

Background in industrial manufacturing, preferably involving electrical, electromechanical, metal, plastic, outsourced manufacturing, or localization projects.

Strong project management, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Fluent English and Spanish.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365; Project Management tools, Power BI required and SAP preferred.

PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile certifications, or a Master's degree are considered a plus.
