About the Role Databricks' Lakebase team is seeking Solutions Architects at multiple levels (Solutions Architect, Sr. Solutions Architect, Lead Solutions Architect) in the United States. This internal mobility opportunity targets internal candidates to pursue growth within the Lakebase product area, aligning with Databricks’ Product Operating Model to focus on early-stage, high-priority product lines. The role involves designing and guiding technical solutions across teams to realize business goals.
What You'll Do
- Design and articulate solution architectures for Lakebase initiatives across multiple levels.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and data teams to translate business needs into scalable design patterns.
- Champion technical direction, define interfaces and integration approaches, and ensure alignment with Databricks' Product Operating Model.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other architects as needed.
- Evaluate trade-offs, produce artifacts (architectures, roadmaps, prototypes), and communicate proposals to stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Solutions Architect or similar, with a track record delivering data/analytics platforms at scale.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Experience across multiple levels of product maturity and internal mobility is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and the Databricks ecosystem (Lakehouse, Spark) is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Lakebase or Lakehouse architectures and data-platform design.
- Mentorship or leadership experience within engineering teams.
- Familiarity with data engineering, ML workloads, and integration patterns.
