Microsoft is hiring a Solution Engineer - Cloud & AI Software, Dev Tools, and AI to help enterprise developers adopt Microsoft's AI-powered developer stack (GitHub, Visual Studio, Azure AI Foundry) across the software development lifecycle. This is a full-time, individual-contributor role based in the United States (multiple locations, remote-flexible up to 50% from home), requiring 25-50% travel.
As a trusted technical advisor, you will guide customers through secure, scalable solution design via hands-on engagements such Proof of Concepts, hackathons, code-with sessions and architecture workshops - helping enterprise engineering teams adopt GitHub Copilot, DevSecOps practices, and AI-native development workflows.
Responsibilities include driving technical sales with decision makers using demos and PoCs; leading hands-on engagements to accelerate adoption of Microsoft's developer tools and cloud platforms; building trusted relationships with developers, platform leads and AI decision makers; resolving technical blockers and objections in partnership with engineering; maintaining deep expertise in GitHub, Visual Studio, AI-assisted dev tools, Foundry SDK, CI/CD, DevOps and cloud-native development; and representing Microsoft in developer communities.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field plus 2+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience (or equivalent combinations, including 3+ years of experience alone). Not eligible for visa sponsorship. Preferred: 6+ years technical pre-sales/consulting experience, cloud/hybrid infrastructure experience, proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C# or Java, and hands-on expertise with GitHub, VS Code, CI/CD and DevOps.
Base pay ranges from USD $86,100-$203,600 per year depending on level and location (higher in SF Bay Area and NYC).
