Role Overview Working at the intersection of critical infrastructure and artificial intelligence, this role focuses on securing next-generation energy systems and collaborating with customers, including highly automated architectures, proven Ai driven abilities, in implementing and securing SDLC environments. The engineer will act as a trusted technical advisor to Siemens Energy clients, ensuring that both IT & Operational Technology (OT) networks and emerging LLM-driven industrial tools are resilient against cyber-physical threats and AI-specific vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a diverse team, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
-
LLM & AI Security in Industrial Systems: Develop and enforce security guardrails for Large Language Models (LLMs) deployed in industrial monitoring, predictive maintenance, and autonomous operational environments
-
Model Hardening: Protect agentic AI and LLM tool interfaces from prompt injection, system prompt leakage, and excessive agency risks within the Purdue Model layers.
-
Futureproofing: Evaluate and prepare customer industrial AI environments for emerging threat landscapes, including Quantum AI impacts on cryptography and machine learning integrity.
-
- Customer-Facing OT Security Advisory
-
Technical Consulting: Serve as the primary security interface for energy clients, guiding them through secure digital transformation and the integration of intelligent grid solutions that corresponds the “Noedra framework” or similar “Mind of the Grid” Frameworks.
-
Threat Modeling: Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for customer OT environments (SCADA, PLCs, DCS) utilizing frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK for ICS environments.
-
Secure Architecture: Design and implement secure connectivity and remote access solutions, leveraging industrial platforms e.g., cRSP (common Remote Service Platform) to ensure safe, resilient external integrations.
-
- ICS/OT Network Defense & Compliance
-
Regulatory Alignment: Ensure customer architectures comply with global industrial standards, with a heavy, practical emphasis on IEC 62443, NERC CIP, and NIS2.
-
Cyber-Physical Resilience: Design network segmentation, OT zero-touch deployments (OT ZTD), and continuous anomaly monitoring for both legacy and modern industrial assets.
-
Incident Readiness: Lead incident response tabletop exercises with customer engineering and plant operations teams, focusing on containing cyber-physical disruptions safely without halting critical processes.
-
Qualifications & Expertise
-
Experience: 5+ years in cybersecurity, with a proven track record in OT/ICS domains and critical energy infrastructure.
-
Ai/LLM Proficiency: 2+ years of Hands-on experience identifying vulnerabilities in LLM integrations (e.g., OWASP Top 10 for LLMs) and securing AI-driven anomaly detection systems.
-
Implementation of Ai driven solutions: Orchestrated the deployment of AI-driven security testing (SAST/DAST/SCA) throughout the SDLC, shifting security left without compromising engineering velocity.
-
Cloud Security: experience building and deploying REST APIs (FastAPI or similar), working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. Experience consuming or fine-tuning ML models
-
Industrial Protocols: Deep understanding of industrial network traffic and communication protocols (Modbus, PROFINET, OPC UA).
-
Client Engagement: Exceptional ability to translate complex cyber-physical and algorithmic risks into actionable strategies for diverse stakeholders, from on-site plant operators to customers and clients outside of the organization.
-
Education: A bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent extensive industry experience is highly valued.
