About the Role Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Solution Architect to join our Information Technology team. You will partner with business stakeholders and delivery teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that align with enterprise architecture principles, translating business needs into technical designs and evaluating solution options. This role requires professional fluency in both English and Spanish to support collaboration across multiple regions.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, processes, and desired business outcomes
- Facilitate requirements workshops and solution design sessions across business and technology teams
- Translate business problems into technical capabilities and solution approaches; communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Mediate trade-offs between business needs, technical constraints, and enterprise standards
- Design end-to-end solutions aligned with enterprise architecture principles and produce architecture artifacts (context diagrams, logical/physical diagrams, data flow diagrams)
- Apply structured system design practices, evaluate solution alternatives using data-driven analysis (cost, performance, risk)
- Document architecture decisions and incorporate feedback from the Senior Solution Architect
- Guide engineering teams in interpreting and implementing solution designs; participate in Agile ceremonies and governance checkpoints
- Ensure alignment with architecture standards, integration patterns, and security requirements; provide clarifications as requirements evolve
- Work independently on moderately complex initiatives and escalate high-impact cross-domain decisions as needed
- Collaborate with the Senior Solution Architect to validate designs and address implementation challenges
- Identify and assess risks related to scalability, resiliency, security, and performance; define non-functional requirements (SLAs, performance thresholds); monitor and optimize solution health
- Maintain architecture assets and support governance processes within the Ardoq platform
- Continuously develop knowledge of architecture patterns, technologies, and industry best practices; share knowledge with the team
What We're Looking For
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 6+ years of experience in software engineering, solution design, or related technical roles; demonstrated experience contributing to system design and architecture decisions
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- Preferred: Life and/or Health Insurance or Financial Services experience; AWS Solutions Architect – Associate (or equivalent) certification
- KSAs: System design, API-based and event-driven integration patterns, knowledge of architecture frameworks and design methodologies; analytical and data-driven thinking; ability to evaluate cost, performance, and risk; strong communication and facilitation skills; bilingual proficiency

- Life/Health Insurance or Financial Services industry experience
- AWS Solutions Architect – Associate certification
- Experience using Ardoq for architecture documentation
