About the Role
At ASM, the Software Engineering team delivers software with immediate, tangible results in semiconductor processing equipment hardware. The role focuses on testing and qualifying software, automating QA processes, and contributing to CI/CD workflows as part of a global team based in Phoenix.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, document, and improve software test suites.
- Perform manual and automated testing of software in simulation and on physical semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Execute and analyze the functionality of engineering designs; provide feedback on quality, effectiveness, and performance.
- Automate, streamline, and maintain QA processes to integrate with CI/CD development workflows.
- Utilize and implement existing quality standards, methods, and procedures; develop new standards where needed.
- Learn the system operation including mechanical, electrical, and software functionality.
- Create and manage test plans and test cases; validate software enhancements and defect fixes.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering to test the system and identify enhancements or quality improvements.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software development, software testing or test automation.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and test management/issue tracking tools.
- Hands-on experience as a Quality Engineer or software developer in test in a company manufacturing complex electromechanical equipment with integrated software controls; preferably in semiconductor equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time.
Nice to Have
- Jira/Confluence/Git; other test tools such as TestComplete or TestRail.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or C#.
- Experience with semiconductor equipment.
- Experience configuring software applications, managing software versioning, or providing configuration management responsibilities.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline creation, execution, and maintenance.
