About the Role Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems. We rely on Ubuntu for enterprises across cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We are seeking a Software Support Engineer to help customers deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Canonical software in demanding environments.
What You'll Do
- Provide proactive and reactive technical support to customers using Canonical software and Ubuntu.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, on-premises, and IoT deployments; reproduce and document defects; coordinate with Eng teams to drive resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders; create knowledge base content and best-practice guides; meet SLA targets.
- Collaborate with sales and engineering to understand customer needs and influence product direction.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu preferred), system administration, networking, and scripting.
- Experience in customer support or technical support roles; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities in a global team environment.
- Self-motivated, analytical, and problem-solving mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with open source software development or contributions.
- Understanding of virtualization, storage, and security concepts.
