About this role

About the Role We are seeking a Technical Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction for enterprise-scale software and platform solutions. This role defines end-to-end solution architectures, governs technical quality, and acts as a trusted technology advisor across multiple teams and stakeholders. What You'll Do

  • Own and drive end-to-end architecture for enterprise software platforms, shared services, and applications.
  • Define target-state and transition architectures, including system decomposition, integration patterns, and data flows.
  • Lead architecture decisions (build/buy/reuse) and clearly articulate trade-offs, risks, and dependencies.
  • Act as a technology advisor to business and technical stakeholders, translating business objectives into pragmatic solutions.
  • Facilitate architecture workshops, design reviews, and technical discussions to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards and governance, including security, scalability, performance, resilience, and operability.
  • Partner with engineering, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure solutions are implementable and production-ready.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate cross-team dependencies and architectural risks.
  • Mentor senior engineers and junior architects; promote consistency, best practices, and engineering excellence.
  • This is a hybrid role and will require three days per week in the office. Hiring location is Columbus, OH. May consider qualified applicants in Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX. What We're Looking For
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering with significant architecture ownership across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 3 years designing enterprise-scale software or platform solutions as a Technical Architect, including strong understanding of modern architecture patterns (micro-frontend, microservices, event-driven, API-first, domain-driven design).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years). If Associate Degree, minimum 6 years of work experience.
  • Bonus points if:
  • Experience building or leading platform-grade capabilities (API platforms, integrations layers, workflow/automation platforms, shared services).
  • Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, managed cloud services, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
  • Expertise in API and integration patterns (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, API gateways, OAuth2/JWT).
  • Experience with DevOps and platform engineering practices (CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, observability, monitoring, and operational readiness.
  • Understanding of Generative & Agentic AI concepts, including LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, and responsible AI considerations.
  • Experience or exposure to GenAI tools and platforms (e.g., enterprise copilots, LLM APIs, vector databases, RAG-based architectures).
  • Architecture or cloud certifications are a plus. Nice to Have
  • Additional platform-grade capabilities and leadership experience across large-scale enterprise programs.
  • Certifications related to cloud or architecture domains. Compensation & Benefits

  • Ohio: USD 122,700 to 241,900
  • Colorado: USD 132,500 to 261,300
  • District of Columbia: USD 141,100 to 278,200
  • Illinois: USD 122,700 to 261,300
  • Maine: USD 112,900 to 222,500
  • Maryland: USD 132,500 to 261,300
  • Massachusetts: USD 132,500 to 278,200
  • Minnesota: USD 132,500 to 261,300
  • New York: USD 122,700 to 302,400
  • New Jersey: USD 141,100 to 302,400
