About the Role Software Engineering Manager responsible for leading and developing teams of engineers on the Astro Console platform, delivering mission-critical dispatch and content-logging software used by dispatchers, 911 operators and first responders. You’ll join a global, cross-functional team of about 100 experts dedicated to delivering zero-failure software and will help steer strategic execution and engineering excellence. What You'll Do
- Lead and develop teams of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, support and high performance.
- Mentor team members with their career development.
- Develop and enforce best practices in engineering processes to enhance operational performance.
- Oversee the delivery of high-priority, complex technical initiatives.
- Provide updates to the leadership team on team progress, risks and issues. What We're Looking For
- Education: MSc or BSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related technical engineering discipline.
- Experience: Proven experience with the software development process and Agile/Scrum practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English language skills for efficient global communication.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify roadblocks and drive them promptly to resolution.
- AI Proficiency: Demonstrated eagerness to explore, test and integrate AI and automation capabilities into routine tasks to improve engineering efficiency.
- Compensation Advocacy and Recognition: Ability to provide fair recognition and advocate for rewards, promotions and transparent compensation.
- Technical Background: Prior experience as Developer, Architect or other technical role. Nice to Have Compensation & Benefits
