About the Role Canonical seeks an Engineering Manager (Backend SaaS) to lead the reboot of the Landscape systems management solution for Ubuntu. This role will guide architecture, delivery, and cross-team collaboration as Ubuntu's enterprise estates expand across cloud, bare metal, vSphere clusters, desktops and devices.
What You'll Do
- Lead the reboot and ongoing development of the Landscape systems management solution for Ubuntu.
- Collaborate with a globally distributed team across 75+ countries to align strategy and execution.
- Oversee backend SaaS engineering, architecture, and delivery to scale in enterprise environments.
What We're Looking For
- Experience leading backend SaaS engineering teams or comparable leadership role.
- Strong people management and communication skills; ability to operate in a distributed, international environment.
- Familiarity with open source software and Ubuntu ecosystem is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience in enterprise IT management or system administration tools.
- Background in cloud, virtualization, or devices management is beneficial.
