Role: Join Microsoft's Specialized Clouds AI Innovation team, building AI-powered products from 0→1 for sovereign and regulated cloud environments. You'll work with engineers and mentors on modern AI engineering while turning ideas into production-ready solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain AI-powered software.
- Build features involving AI agents, APIs, prompts, RAG/retrieval, and evaluation.
- Test AI quality, including accuracy, relevance, groundedness, and reliability.
- Use logs, traces, and debugging tools to improve systems.
- Apply secure coding, responsible AI, CI/CD, and observability practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing an M.Sc. or M.A. in CS, Software Engineering, AI, ML, or related field with at least 3 semesters remaining.
- Programming experience in Python, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, or similar.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, and debugging.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and ability to learn quickly.
Preferred:
- PhD/Doctorate in a relevant field.
- 1+ year programming experience and 6+ months working on team projects.
- Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, agents, RAG, prompt engineering, cloud platforms, REST APIs, CI/CD, and observability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and experience turning ambiguous ideas into tangible products.
