Meta is looking for software engineers to join XF APAC Products, an AI-first team that owns technical strategy across large-scale product systems. The team sits at the center of commercial monetization, consumer app experimentation, and AI for Business, and its work directly shapes how people and businesses across the region connect, grow, and get value from Meta's products. Beyond building products, the team is redesigning how Meta builds them, reshaping product development workflows for greater speed and efficiency. It defines the architecture for complex, high-impact systems, leads multi-year technical initiatives from strategy through to delivery, and sets the standard for AI-native engineering practices across Meta's product portfolio.

Software Engineer - XF APAC Products Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations, infrastructure) to build innovative application experiences
• Implement custom user interfaces using latest programming techniques and technologies
• Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance, and provide feedback to peers during code reviews
• Set direction and goals for teams, lead major initiatives, provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers, and help onboard new team members
• Architect efficient and scalable systems that drive complex applications
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and drive large efforts to reduce technical debt
• Work on a variety of coding languages and technologies
• Establish ownership of components, features, or systems with expert end-to-end understanding

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of programming experience in a relevant language or 4+ years of experience with a PhD
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Programming experience in a relevant language
• Demonstrated experience driving change within an organization and leading complex technical projects
• Experience utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience setting engineering standards for AI-native engineering practices
• Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience leading multi-year technical initiatives
• Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Swift, or Kotlin, and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack
• Experience building large-scale applications or similar experiences
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience defining architectural direction across a product portfolio
