Job title: Software Engineer - Ubuntu Server Certification
About the Role Canonical is hiring a software engineer to join the Server Certification team. The Certification team develops Python-based testing tools used to test Ubuntu Server on the latest enterprise hardware, ensuring Ubuntu users have the best experience with their hardware.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain Python-based testing tools for validating Ubuntu Server on enterprise hardware
- Contribute to automated test suites and certification workflows
- Collaborate with Server Certification teammates to improve test coverage and reliability
- Help ensure hardware compatibility and optimal user experience for Ubuntu Server
What We're Looking For
- Experience with Python and software testing/automation
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems, ideally Ubuntu Server
- Ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid team and communicate clearly
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python-based testing frameworks
- Familiarity with hardware validation or CI/CD systems
