Software Engineer - PHP
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain PHP-based web applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and engineers to build seamless user experiences.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Design APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Maintain and improve database structures.
- Implement security and data protection best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and improve development workflows.
- Contribute to learning, development, and mentorship programmes.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience as a PHP Software Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of PHP 7+, OOP, Yii1, Yii2, Linux, and Laravel.
- Experience with MVC frameworks, SQL databases, and query optimization.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git, API development, and integrations.
- Experience in database design, workflow systems, enterprise platforms, and SaaS deployment.
- Understanding of security and performance optimization.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, lead teams, and mentor junior engineers.
- Experience with power sector applications and Java is an advantage.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, front-end frameworks, and Agile methodologies is an advantage.
