About the Role Motorola Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to develop firmware for professional and mission-critical communications devices. You will join the TETRA Software Engineering Team and contribute across the product lifecycle to deliver reliable, high-quality embedded software for commercial, government, and industrial markets. This is an onsite role in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
What You'll Do
- Develop firmware for communication devices for the professional and mission-critical markets in the commercial, government and industrial segments.
- Participate in all aspects of the product development process including specification definition, design, implementation and testing; understand software lifecycles.
- Coordinate and participate in software design and code reviews.
- Communicate across design centers and collaborate with other engineers to apply best practices and continuous improvement.
- Work with the TETRA software engineering team to elevate technology.
What We're Looking For
- PhD / Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications / Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Preferably with at least 1-5 years’ working experience or equivalent in firmware development.
- Embedded system debugging and strong analytical skills.
- Good Programming & debugging skills in C/C++.
- Experience with Scrum/Agile/SAFe development methodologies.
- Experience in real-time embedded software development for communication devices, automotive applications, industrial automation and consumer products will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscope, audio/logic analyzer & signal generator will be an added advantage.
- Good foundation knowledge of microprocessors and controller design will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work and communicate well across different design centers.
- Knowledge in Perl, Bash, Python, C# programming would be an added advantage.
- Must be creative, independent, good team player, and highly motivated to learn and adapt to fast-changing technologies and environment.
- Candidate must be willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
Nice to Have
- Experience in real-time embedded software development for communication devices, automotive applications, industrial automation and consumer products (added advantage).
- Additional programming languages: Perl, Bash, Python, C#.
