Location: Sunnyvale, California (Onsite - hybrid)

COMPENSATION: $80 - $90 HOURLY

Role Overview

We are seeking a Simulation CV/ML Engineer. This role focuses on generating synthetic datasets by running and iterating on camera and sensor simulation pipelines. The position involves delivering training and evaluation data to camera architects and machine learning teams, supporting ML algorithm training, and improving simulation tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Run and iterate on camera/sensor simulation pipelines to generate synthetic datasets on demand.

• Deliver training and evaluation data to camera architects and ML teams under tight timelines.

• Support ML algorithm training and evaluation using the generated synthetic data, including running training jobs and producing evaluation metrics.

• Iterate on dataset composition based on model performance.

• Configure simulation scenes and sensor parameters to match customer and architect specifications.

• Validate and quality-check generated data before hand-off.

• Maintain and improve simulation tooling and dataset generation scripts.

• Required Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on ML infrastructure design, is required.

Technical Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Python and C++.

• Fundamentals of camera and sensor simulation, including camera intrinsic/extrinsic setup, calibration, and sensor modeling (noise sources, conversion gain, quantum efficiency, read/shot noise).

• Basic understanding of ISP and image formation.

• Experience running ML training and evaluation workflows, preferably with PyTorch.

• Ability to interpret model metrics and translate them into dataset changes.

• Comfort with large-scale dataset generation, storage, and versioning.

• Familiarity with Linux development environments and source control.

• Experience building ML models and pipelines.

• Understanding of how camera simulations work.

• Previous AI experience to develop ML architectures.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rendering engines such as Blender, Unreal, or Unity, or with in-house simulation frameworks.

• An optical or imaging background, including radiometry, PSF, or MTF.

• Prior experience with camera/ISP tuning or perception model development.
