About this role
Microsoft is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Copilot Studio’s AI Orchestration team within the Business & Industry Copilots group. This team leverages and optimizes generative AI models to perform actions, make decisions, create responses, and more within agents. Our orchestration capabilities power millions of conversational and autonomous agents daily as part of the Copilot Studio service, enabling integrations with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Teams, IVR/voice products, web-based agents, and more. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements.
- Drive design documentation and identify dependencies.
- Build, optimize, debug, refactor, and maintain high-quality code.
- Design and run experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of changes.
- Partner with product managers to deliver project and release plans.
- Act as a designated responsible individual (DRI) and participate in on-call rotations.
- Proactively adopt new technologies to improve reliability, performance, and observability.
Requirements

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field AND 4+ years of software engineering experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, React, or Python, or equivalent experience.

4+ years of industry experience in full-stack or backend development shipping services across multiple releases.

Experience building generative AI applications or services.

Experience with the Power Platform or Microsoft 365 Enterprise development.

Other requirements include the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
