About the Role

Deloitte is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II specialized in Java Spark to design and build robust batch and real-time streaming data pipelines. The role focuses on scalable, reliable data solutions and collaboration with cross-functional teams, aligned with Deloitte's Project Delivery Model for long-term onsite client service.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines using Java and the Apache Spark framework
• Build complex ETL / ELT workflows to extract, transform, and load massive data volumes from diverse sources
• Optimize and debug Spark configurations, partition strategies, and memory allocation to resolve bottlenecks
• Write highly optimized, clean, and testable Java code compliant with SOLID principles and standard design patterns
• Integrate pipelines with relational databases, NoSQL stores, and distributed storage systems
• Support deployment pipelines by using build automation tools and managing version control
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews)

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software, systems, or embedded engineering
• 3+ years of experience working Java/J2EE
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on Java/J2EE and Big Data frameworks
• 3+ years of experience with Spark Ecosystems: Spark APIs (RDDs, Data Frames, Datasets, Spark SQL)
• 3+ years of experience in Core Languages: Java (Java 8 or higher) and OOP/concurrency patterns
• 3+ years of experience with SQL, RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Proficiency with testing frameworks such as JUnit
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, or distributed systems patterns
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and scalable API design
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; travel up to 10%
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $80,600 - $134,300 USD per year
