About the Role You will join InstaLILY as a Software Engineer II to build and scale our AI agents platform. This client-facing role partners with enterprise customers and cross-functional teams to deliver features that operate inside customers' systems. What You'll Do
- Develop InstaLILY’s AI platform and drive technical excellence throughout the organization
- Work with product, UI/UX, business development, and growth to design and implement new features
- Lead technical discovery with enterprise customers and translate real-world workflows into shipped products
- Improve quality and reliability with comprehensive testing and CI/CD
- Collaborate with Lead Software Engineer and Head of Product; nurture a culture of learning
- Partner with product and design to deliver high-quality products meeting customer needs
- Stay current with AI and software engineering trends
- Mentor junior engineers: pair on hard problems, review code, and help them level up What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's in CS/engineering/math/physics or related; demonstrated ability matters more than credential
- 1-3 years as a software engineer; shipped something with real users
- Strong fluency in Python, TypeScript, or similar; modern web stack
- Solid system design fundamentals: API design, data modeling, async patterns, caching, queues
- Strong communication; explain what you built and why to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- In-office availability: 5 days/week in New York or San Francisco for first 6 months, then 4 days/week in person with 1 day remote Nice to Have
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
- AI-focused: built something with LLMs (RAG system, agent, fine-tuned model, or real integration) Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year
