About the Role Contribute as an individual engineer to design, develop, and enhance software features for two-way radios. Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from requirements analysis to deployment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable embedded software for mission-critical communications. What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and enhance embedded C/C++ software features for two-way radios.
- Participate in the full SDLC: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Analyze requirements for quality, performance, and budget constraints; assess feasibility.
- Collaborate with front-end architects, hardware, test engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integration.
- Write clean, well-documented, testable C/C++ code for embedded systems adhering to coding standards.
- Conduct design and code reviews; contribute to high quality and maintainability.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded software issues using debugging tools.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor KPIs; contribute to team performance metrics.
- Deliver projects on time within agile environment; adapt to evolving requirements.
- Work effectively in collaborative, multi-site, global development environment.
- Contribute to IP development and innovation that enhances product offerings. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Good C/C++ programming skills and a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Understanding of microcontroller operation in embedded systems.
- System debugging and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and embedded software development is a plus.
- Knowledge of LTE/DMR specifications is advantageous.
- Knowledge or experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across different functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional short-notice work arrangements due to project/business needs.
- This role is based onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
