About the Role Exa is an applied AI lab building a massive-scale search engine. As a backend engineer, you'll play a critical role in our search architecture and scale our infrastructure for state-of-the-art embeddings and vector databases. This is an in-person opportunity in San Francisco with flexible project ownership across the engineering team. What You'll Do
- Build and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend systems powering the search architecture.
- Design and implement data processing pipelines that handle millions of documents per day.
- Optimize systems for exceptional performance and scalability, including crawling, indexing, and vector DB components.
- Collaborate across teams and contribute to projects aligned with your skills and interests. What We're Looking For
