Job title: Software Engineer - Backend
About the Role As a founding member of the Belgrade site, you will join Databricks' multi-year Lakehouse journey and help build the data and AI infrastructure platform. You will be involved in the full development cycle and exemplify our core values.
What You'll Do
- Build reliable, secure, high-performance backend services and client libraries for storing and accessing large data on cloud storage backends (e.g., AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage).
- Develop product features that empower customers to easily store and access their data, and contribute to distributed systems, at-scale service architecture, monitoring, and developer experience.
- Be a founding member of the Belgrade site, involved in the end-to-end development process and helping shape the product and engineering culture.
What We're Looking For
- BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of production-level experience in Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA).
- Knowledge of SQL.
