About the Role Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. We are hiring multiple positions from early-career engineers to experienced architects focused on the different dimensions of dependable software: cybersecurity, quality, and safety. The role is home-based in the EMEA region and reflects Canonical's culture of distributed collaboration with few office-based roles.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design and implementation of dependable software for automotive and industrial architectures, aligning with Canonical's open source platforms such as Ubuntu.
- Collaborate with distributed teams across regions; participate in architecture discussions and strategy alignment with in-person meetings two to four times per year.
- Help improve cybersecurity, quality, and safety aspects of software used in mission-critical environments.
What We're Looking For
- Interest or experience in developing open source software and in complex, mission-critical systems.
- Passion for cybersecurity, software quality, and safety; ability to work across disciplines and teams.
- Comfortable working in a distributed, home-based role in the EMEA region; proactive communication and collaboration.
Nice to Have
- Experience with automotive or industrial software domains.
- Prior involvement with Ubuntu or Canonical projects, or other open source ecosystems.
