Job Title: Software Engineer 4 – Senior GenAI / AI Automation Engineer (Contingent)

Client: Financial Services Team: TBA Location: Charlotte, NC Contract Length: 18 Months (Potential Extension and/or Conversion) Pay Rate: $69 - $74/hour (OT40)

Top Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Generative AI, Machine Learning, AI Agents, or Intelligent Automation solutions.
• Strong development experience with Python, LangGraph, LangChain, Google ADK, and agent-based architectures.
• Experience building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions, AI agents, and LLM-powered applications.
• Strong experience implementing Document AI / Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions including OCR, data extraction, PDF parsing, semantic matching, confidence scoring, and workflow automation.
• Experience developing enterprise-grade AI solutions utilizing APIs, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and containerized environments.

Plusses:

• Experience with MongoDB, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience supporting highly regulated environments with AI governance requirements.
• Cloud-native deployment and containerization experience.
• Financial services experience (not required but valuable).
• Experience automating operational workflows and customer service processes.

Job Summary

This Software Engineer 4 role supports enterprise-wide Generative AI initiatives for Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking. The team is focused on building intelligent automation solutions that leverage AI agents, machine learning models, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to automate operational processes and customer requests.

The engineer will design, build, and optimize AI-powered platforms that replace manual operational workflows through agent orchestration, document processing, business rule validation, API integration, and intelligent workflow automation. The ideal candidate must possess strong hands-on implementation experience and be able to clearly articulate technical decisions, architecture choices, and business outcomes from prior AI projects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Design and develop LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and intelligent automation solutions.
• Build agent orchestration workflows using LangGraph, LangChain, Python, and modern AI frameworks.
• Develop and optimize RAG architectures supporting enterprise use cases.
• Implement Document AI and Intelligent Document Processing solutions including OCR, parsing, extraction, validation, and classification.
• Design and build agent-driven workflows that automate business processes and customer requests.
• Develop integrations through REST APIs and microservices.
• Support AI model selection, implementation, tuning, testing, and operational deployment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Design scalable cloud-native AI solutions operating within highly containerized environments.
• Participate in architecture reviews, governance discussions, and AI control framework implementation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve platform reliability and performance.
• Document technical designs, implementation approaches, and operational support procedures.
