Job title: Software Development Manager
About the Role As a Software Development Manager, you’ll be the leader, coach, and inspiration for a global team of skilled software engineers in our Quality Assurance domain. Your priority is enabling your people to grow, delivering high-quality software, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to release reliable software. You will collaborate with the Functional Product Manager to create a trusted release plan and ensure priorities are met while keeping stakeholders informed.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and inspire a global team of software engineers in QA-focused development
- Set assignments, provide feedback, and enable skill growth
- Create a reliable release plan in close collaboration with the Functional Product Manager
- Ensure priorities are met and stakeholders are kept informed during execution
- Participate in development projects to maintain and improve technical skills
- Follow and drive the agile process from scope negotiation to design, implementation, testing, and QA
- Delegate to technical leads, senior developers, and dedicated scrum testers; get hands dirty when needed
- Encourage feedback, empower ideas, and foster cross-team collaboration with QA, documentation, and other teams
- Be willing to work internationally and travel to multiple locations as needed
What We're Looking For
- Master or PhD in ICT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- Experience managing and coaching a software development team
- Strong knowledge of project management and agile software development
- Excellent 360° communication skills to connect with team members, managers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Ability to lead by example and coach others
- Willingness to dive into technical details when required
- Bonus: experience with virtual teams across multiple locations; strong programming skills; knowledge of QA processes and object-oriented programming; Azure/Cloud experience; QA architect background
- Language: English required; other languages a plus
