About the Role

As a Software Development Manager, you’re the leader, coach, and inspiration for a global team of skilled software engineers. Your people are your top priority, and you drive collaboration, assignments, and feedback to help them grow. In close collaboration with our Functional Product Manager, you create a reliable release plan, oversee execution, and keep stakeholders informed. You also participate in development projects to maintain and improve your own technical skills.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coach a global team of software engineers; set assignments, share feedback, and empower the team to reach the next level.
  • Partner with the Functional Product Manager to create and maintain a reliable release plan and ensure priorities are met during execution.
  • Manage execution to meet priorities and keep stakeholders informed about progress; contribute to development projects to stay technically current.
  • Ensure the agile development process is followed from scope negotiation to design, implementation, testing, and quality assurance; keep delivery on time and quality high.
  • Delegate to technical leads, senior developers, and the dedicated scrum testing team; roll up your sleeves when needed.
  • Encourage team members to share feedback and ideas and empower them to implement those suggestions.
  • Facilitate and coordinate cross-team collaboration with other development teams, QA, testing, and documentation.
  • Be comfortable working internationally and traveling to multiple locations as needed by the team’s geography.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience leading global software engineering teams with strong people management and collaboration skills.
  • Deep understanding of agile development processes and delivering high-quality software on schedule.
  • Ability to create and maintain release plans in partnership with Product Management and manage shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management to keep everyone aligned.
  • Technical background to contribute to development work and to guide the team’s technical growth.
  • Proven ability to delegate effectively to technical leads, senior developers, and test teams while remaining hands-on when necessary.
  • Experience coordinating cross-team activities including QA and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple locations.
