About the Role Join the AWS GuardDuty team as a Software Development Engineer. You will design and implement complex security services for AWS, work on large-scale distributed systems, and collaborate with security researchers to operationalize analytics. This role offers mentorship from senior engineers and opportunities to apply machine learning in the security domain.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement complex security services for AWS.
- Manage on-call once in 2 to 3 months for a week (very light for this team).
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Support other team members in code reviews and reviews of system designs.
- Foster innovation and turn ambiguous problems into actionable solutions.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
- 1+ years of SDE or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language (C#, C++, Java, or Perl).
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $144,000 – $194,000 per year.
- Sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) included in total compensation.
