Job title: Software Developer - L2/L3 Networking Datapath
About the Role Join a capable engineering team to design and implement embedded system software for high-performance data networking products. You will influence datapath software, collaborate across product marketing, SQA, and development teams, and lead cross-functional coordination to meet performance, scalability, interop, and security goals.
What You'll Do
- Analyze requirements, design, develop and deliver high-quality software with functional teams.
- Participate in software design reviews and articulate system software requirements.
- Propose design architectures and solutions for new features on Broadcom ASICs.
- Experiment with performance/scale tweaks using board hardware and software resources.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, SQA, and other teams to ensure performance, scalability, interop, and security requirements.
- Lead datapath team and coordinate across organization lines.
- Write functional and design specification documents and drive sign-off.
- Interface with developers, QA, documentation, customer support, and program management.
- Participate in full product life cycle development.
What We're Looking For
- B.S./B.E./B.Tech in CS/EE/ECE/IT.
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience in Networking/Telecom Embedded/Network Management.
- Excellent programming knowledge in C/C++.
- Experience in software or hardware-based packet forwarding.
- Working experience with Broadcom ASICs (Trident, Jericho, or Qumran).
- Software management of networking HW resources such as TCAM, packet buffers & RIB/FIB.
- IPv4/IPv6 routing/forwarding, PBR, ACL, rate-limiting, QoS.
- MPLS, VPLS, VRF, L3VPN, VxLAN, OpenFlow, SDN.
- LLDP, LAG/LACP, Layer 2 switching, Ethernet.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments.
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of system architecture, SDKs, or drivers for network processor or traffic manager ASIC/FPGA.
- Exposure to Go and microservices architecture.
- English language level B2 Upper Intermediate.
