About the Role The Software Architect is responsible for defining and leading the application architecture strategy for scalable, high-performance software systems. This role ensures robust design, maintainability, and integration of complex applications across platforms. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, establish architectural standards and drive modularization initiative.
What You'll Do
- Define and lead application architecture strategy aligned with business and product goals
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance application systems
- Establish architecture standards, best practices, and design patterns
- Drive adoption of modern architectures (microservices, event-driven, cloud-native)
- Provide hands-on architectural guidance to development teams
- Conduct architectural reviews and ensure alignment with standards
- Mentor engineers and influence technical decision-making
- Lead resolution of complex technical challenges
- Collaborate with product, platform, data, and infrastructure teams
- Ensure seamless integration across systems, APIs, and external platforms
- Work with global teams to maintain consistency across solutions
- Ensure software quality, reliability, and security requirements
- Support DevOps and CI/CD practices for continuous delivery
- Establish monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and frameworks
- Drive application modernization and legacy transformation
- Promote reusability and platform-based development
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a software architect or senior architect with hands-on leadership
- Strong team leadership and mentoring experience; ability to influence technical decisions
- Experience designing scalable, secure, high-performance systems
- Proficiency with microservices, event-driven and cloud-native architectures
- Strong collaboration across product, platform, data, and infrastructure teams
- Familiarity with architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and monitoring/observability
- Excellent English communication; Korean language skills are a plus
- Familiarity with GE HealthCare quality processes and regulatory considerations is a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience leading teams in healthcare or ultrasound research environments
- Experience working with global teams and mentoring across geographies
- Knowledge of quality/compliance processes and regulatory requirements
