Small Business Advisor

About the Role The Small Business Advisor is a customer-centric professional within Scotiabank's Canadian Banking Branch network. The role focuses on managing high value and/or complex small business relationships to achieve retention and other negotiated goals while delivering exceptional service throughout the customer journey. You will work with Centres of Influence and fellow advisors to create a customer-centric environment that supports small business success. What You'll Do

• Manage an assigned portfolio of high value and/or complex small business owner relationships to achieve retention and other negotiated goals while meeting Scotiabank’s Service Standard.
• Create a strong presence within the local business community by developing relationships with various Centres of Influence.
• Proactively engage with new and existing clients to build strong, ongoing relationships and provide comprehensive advice, enabling them to build successful businesses.
• Partner with fellow advisors to create a customer-centric environment.
• Collaborate with other business lines within the bank to support cross-sell and integrated solutions. What We're Looking For
• Results-oriented attitude with strong knowledge of the small business market and products/services.
• Understanding of financial statements, applicable risk management policies, and legal/security documentation for small business products.
• Excellent business development techniques; familiarity with small business legal structures and life cycles, competitor offerings, and alternative financing sources.
• Strong organizational skills; adaptable to a dynamic environment.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills; ability to collaborate with others.
• Education in a business-related discipline or equivalent work experience as a small business owner.
