About the Role Nexteer Automotive Saginaw, Michigan Operations is seeking candidates for an Industrial Machine Repair role. This position focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on safety and teamwork to keep production lines running smoothly. What You'll Do
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on industrial equipment
- Read and interpret prints for hydraulic systems/circuits and pneumatic systems/circuits
- Understand and work with chemical/oil/water based fluids
- Do piping, thread piping, tubing and steam fitting work
- Perform fixture and mechanical repairs on industrial equipment
- Conduct spindle repair and lubrication system repairs
- Operate tool room type equipment (lathe, mill, saw, drill press, etc.)
- Use an oxygen/acetylene torch
- Operate forklift trucks
- Install ballscrews into machines
- Indicate spindles/chucks/shafts/linear bearings
- Rig equipment using chains, slings and chokers from mobile and overhead cranes
- Experience working on assembly lines, machining cells, stamping presses, plastic injection, grinding machines, CNC machines, etc. What We're Looking For
- Must be safety oriented with an overriding priority on safe operations
- Self-starting, team-oriented individuals with good technical and people skills
- Willing to coach/mentor fellow employees
- To qualify you must have one of the following: Journeyman’s card; Completed a Department of Labor - Certified Program; Experience as an Industrial Machine Repairer, preferably 6 years
- This position could be filled by a Journeyperson in Training (JIT); compensation ranges for a JIT will be determined by certificates/credentials and scoring in the interview process will determine status and pay
- Minimum 4 years of relative experience
- May require participation in additional classroom training Compensation & Benefits
