Job title: Skilled Operator
About the Role The Skilled Operator is the basic level of operator responsible for performing basic operational processes in production while operating equipment and machinery that require a certain level of proficiency gained through on-the-job and specialized training. The role supports and executes operational activities to help achieve production targets in the assigned area, with guidance available from Multi-Skilled Operators, Supervisors or Team Leaders when needed.
What You'll Do
- Execute operational activities / processes such as discharge, load, transport, clean, label, and operate all equipment to contribute to a safe, effective and efficient production process.
- Maintenance & repair: periodically inspect and perform small maintenance tasks on production equipment, signal defects and deficiencies; conduct minor repair work when applicable.
- Reporting: log data and information on production orders and activities in the appropriate logbooks or systems to provide complete administration and insight into production orders.
- Continuous improvement: signal deviations in current processes, techniques or systems and flag opportunities for improvement with the supervisor to continuously optimize operational processes, tools and systems.
- Safety & Compliance: work in compliance with relevant safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, promote SHEQ awareness, identify hazards and take action in case of imminent unsafe situations.
- Good housekeeping: keep the work area clean and safe, maintain the appearance of production lines and sites, and ensure no hazardous conditions remain.
What We're Looking For
- Basic operator level with proficiency in operating equipment requiring on-the-job and specialized training.
- Ability to perform (semi) routine tasks with guidance from supervisors or team leaders when routine is insufficient.
- Knowledge of the use of materials, equipment and tools and the ability to gain experience and skills over time.
- Commitment to safety, quality and environmental regulations and procedures, and the ability to promote SHEQ awareness.
- Willingness to work in a production environment and follow established specifications and guidelines.
