Site Superintendent/QC Specialist

About the Role Cape Fox Mountain Point seeks a Site Superintendent/QC Specialist to lead day-to-day site management on federally funded construction projects. The role involves planning, coordinating, monitoring and driving all project activities to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets, while maintaining client communications and government liaison. Work will be performed primarily at a federal facility near Fallon, NV with potential to work across the Southern United States; recruitment location listed as Aiken, SC. What You'll Do

• Be the primary contact with the Government until acceptance.
• Be at the job site at all times when work is taking place and must have full authority to act for the Contractor.
• Attend and participate in preconstruction progress, weekly meetings, coordination meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings.
• Support project health and safety plans in workplace per OSHA guidelines and EM385-1-1.
• Maintain high level of professionalism and carry out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service.
• Exercise tact, good manners and diplomacy.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.
• Accomplish construction project results by understanding the scope of work, working with Project Manager to contract with subcontractors then coordinating and scheduling the various trades, resolving issues, to reach a timely conclusion.
• Supervise the coordination and input as needed with the contractors’ providing services and infrastructure.
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
• Oversee day-to-day field activities.
• Assist and fill in for Project Managers when they are not available.
• Assist subcontractors with Federal procedures and rules.
• Manage subcontractor base access issues.
• Supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.
• Conduct employee orientations and safety meetings.
• Supervise day-to-day work of crew and prioritize work at hand.
• Ability to effectively lead a crew on schedule while monitoring quality of work at hand.
• Enforces all client-required safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crew member discipline and documentation.
• Conduct pre final inspections/ establish punch list if required/ ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
• Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel.
• Submit as-builts on finished projects.
• Manage close out process and warranty responses with project manager.
• The role may require acting as Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) on Federal contracts if needed.
• The Site Superintendent will support the management of the Contractor Health and Safety Program (per EM 385-1-1). What We're Looking For
• Active or able to complete Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification from the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is required.
• Ability to support the QC Manager and serve as liaison with Government Contracting Official on-site; direct daily activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety rules, and quality/security requirements.
• Experience coordinating with Federal procedures and rules; base access management.
• Ability to serve as SSHO on Federal contracts, if needed.
• Experience managing Health and Safety Programs equivalent to EM 385-1-1 and implementing OSHA-based safety plans.
• Strong leadership of crews and subcontractors; ability to manage schedule within plan.

• Salary: $125,000 - $145,000 per year.
