Job title: Site Superintendent
About the Role Site Superintendent will manage day-to-day project site activities for Mountain Point in Mobile, Alabama, overseeing government contracts and construction work to ensure schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client communications are maintained.
What You'll Do
- Be the primary contact with the Government until acceptance.
- Be at the job site at all times when work is taking place and have full authority to act for the Contractor.
- Attend and participate in preconstruction progress, weekly meetings, coordination meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings.
- Support project health and safety plans in the workplace according to OSHA guidelines and EM385-1-1.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and carry out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service.
- Exercise tact, good manners and diplomacy.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.
- Understand the scope of work and contract with subcontractors, coordinate and schedule trades, resolve issues to reach timely conclusions.
- Supervise coordination and input with contractors providing services and infrastructure.
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
- Oversee day-to-day field activities; assist and fill in for Project Managers when unavailable.
- Assist subcontractors with Federal procedures and rules; manage subcontractor base access issues.
- Supervise subcontractors and subordinate staff; conduct employee orientations and safety meetings.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures; comply with company policies and safety requirements, including discipline and documentation.
- Conduct pre-final inspections, establish punch lists if required, ensure deficiencies are corrected.
- Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel; submit as-builts on finished projects.
- Manage close-out process and warranty responses with the Project Manager.
- Travel as required; work on U.S. Government contracts at military installations; use safety equipment; work with minimal supervision; maintain professionalism and a proactive attitude.
What We're Looking For
- Active Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification from USACE, or ability to successfully complete.
- Ability to serve as Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) on Federal contracts, if needed.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills; ability to manage crew and subcontractors to meet schedule and budget.
- Experience with government contracting procedures and working on government/military projects.
- Willingness to travel; comfortable working in varied settings including offices, facilities, and construction sites.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Federal procedures and rules; familiarity with EM 385-1-1.
- Experience working on U.S. Government contracts at military installations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 USD per year.
