Job title: Site Safety Manager
About the Role Responsible for leading safety management across construction project sites in the Cedar Rapids region on a 12-month contract. The Site Safety Manager will oversee safety observations, audits, and contractor coordination to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI standards and to minimize risk. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to travel to multiple sites as needed.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and conduct safety observations and inspections of construction management and contractor activities at construction project sites to ensure compliance with the safety program and applicable standards.
- Identify and report compliance issues to construction management and contractors for corrective action.
- Conduct safety audits of construction projects.
- Review contractor method statements and ensure alignment with project standards and health and safety requirements.
- Participate in meetings with contractors and subcontractors to ensure health and safety issues are adequately addressed.
- Review investigations of serious contractor construction incidents to identify causative factors and preventive actions.
- Review contractor work and safety plans associated with construction projects and identify issues for resolution.
- Attend pre-activity construction meetings and regular joint operations/construction project coordination meetings.
- Monitor construction management and contractor activities at construction project sites to ensure compliance with project safety plans.
- Maintain safety and performance metrics and regularly report on program effectiveness.
- Manage construction safety audit program and reporting.
- Complete daily reports documenting events, findings, observations, and major tasks related to safety, health, and the overall status of the project.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related fields; relevant work experience may be used in lieu.
- Current Professional Certification Required: CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHT, GSP, or similar from BCSP or similar accredited organization.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in construction safety, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience (or equivalent).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to multiple worksite locations in the region.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong planning and organizational skills; extensive knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 regulations, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI standards; solid understanding of industrial hygiene at construction sites.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $63-$65/hour, DOE
- Contract length: 12 months
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Travel: Ability to travel to multiple worksite locations in the region.
