About the Role The Site Procurement Specialist utilizes basic contracting and purchasing knowledge to acquire services and materials for a site. They serve as the site’s primary procurement point of contact, coordinating with Supply Chain and other functions to maximize value and ensure compliance with nuclear site requirements. What You'll Do
- Promote strong safety behaviors and proactively address safety concerns among suppliers.
- Perform storm role duties and Nuclear Supply Chain Duty on Call as assigned.
- Conduct site needs assessments, attend weekly plant lead team meetings, and perform market/financial analyses to assess supplier risk.
- Apply commercial management principles (plan, strategize, source, perform); lead pre-award and post-award contract administration; create and lead RFx processes; develop negotiation strategies and KPIs.
- Process materials RFQs; coordinate with stakeholders to define specs, schedules, quality and quantity requirements; create Purchase Orders and track orders, expediting as needed.
- Identify and evaluate new/current sources (including small, local, and diverse suppliers) for competitive offerings.
- Resolve invoice mismatches (Over, Short, Damaged, or Discrepant issues); work with Legal and Tax on contract deviations within tolerance.
- Ensure Nuclear Safety Related suppliers are active/approved on the Quality Supplier List; ensure material is reviewed by Engineering for regulatory compliance.
- Deliver savings through competitive bidding, direct negotiations and cost avoidance; ensure compliance with diversity, bidding, document retention and contractor safety.
- Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, and Production. What We're Looking For

- Completion of thorough in-depth background check
- Hybrid role requiring minimum 3 days/week in office at Waterford 3 site, Killona, LA
- Basic contracting and purchasing knowledge; experience sourcing services/materials; RFx leadership; supplier negotiations
- Ability to coordinate with Legal, Tax, Safety, HR, Finance, Risk, and other functions; cross-functional collaboration
- Strong analytical skills for market and financial analyses; ability to evaluate supplier risk and develop strategies
- Demonstrated ability to create POs, track orders, and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Comfortable working with regulatory and site-specific requirements and obtaining required approvals Nice to Have
- Experience in nuclear or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with nuclear site procurement interfaces (Central Procurement Group, Category Management, warehousing/inventory)
- Knowledge of supplier diversity programs and quality assurance requirements
