Site Manager

Lead site operations to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable manufacturing while building an inclusive, high-performing team. The role is responsible for shaping site strategy, driving operational excellence and collaborating across functions to meet customer needs and support business growth.

Reporting to the Head of Operations APAC, the Site Manager is accountable for site performance, safety, quality and compliance, including fulfilling Site Occupier responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure legal, ESHA and quality compliance, certifications and Site Occupier duties, including government liaison, statutory reporting, audit closure and process controls.

• Lead production, capacity utilisation, cost and productivity, ensuring quality and customer service through continuous improvement and resource optimisation.

• Collaborate across Commercial, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance and global operations to align planning and delivery; coordinate new products and transfers with Product Management, the Global Competence Centre and R&PD.

• Execute site strategy, CAPEX, development and sustainability initiatives aligned with business growth and Clariant’s 2030 targets.

• Coach departmental managers, strengthen talent and succession planning, and build an inclusive, empowered team.

• Contribute to country governance and global strategic discussions, and serve as Chief of Staff for Country Emergency Management.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Chemical Technology and a master’s in Business Management.

• At least 18-20 years’ experience in batch chemical manufacturing and site operations.

• Strong leadership in safety, quality, statutory compliance and manufacturing performance.

• Experience in CAPEX, site development, continuous improvement, Lean or Six Sigma, manufacturing processes and cost optimisation.

• Sound business judgement to balance operational, customer and business priorities, with strong collaboration, stakeholder influence and change leadership skills.

• Having Can-Do Attitude: Demonstrates a proactive and positive mindset, taking ownership of challenges and consistently finding solutions to deliver results
