Job Summary

• The Site Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, safe, and orderly environment across the assigned project site.
• The role involves routine cleaning, waste management, sanitation, and general housekeeping duties to ensure that the site remains presentable and suitable for staff, contractors, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, site facilities, walkways, common areas, restrooms, and other designated areas.

• Sweep, mop, dust, wash, and sanitize assigned areas regularly.

• Clean and maintain toilets, bathrooms, and other sanitary facilities.

• Collect, sort, and dispose of waste appropriately and in accordance with site procedures.

• Ensure cleaning materials, tools, and equipment are properly used, stored, and maintained.

• Replenish basic sanitary supplies such as soap, tissue, handwash, and other approved consumables when required.

• Report damaged facilities, leaks, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to the Site Supervisor or Facility Manager promptly.

• Maintain cleanliness around site entrances, walkways, and other areas accessible to staff and visitors.

• Assist with cleaning before and after meetings, site activities, inspections, or other events when required.

• Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and environmental procedures applicable to the site.

• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and responsibly.

• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with staff, contractors, visitors, and other site personnel.

• Ensure assigned cleaning duties are completed within the required time and to the expected standard.

• Perform other reasonable cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

• Performance Expectations

• The Site Janitor is expected to consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, complete assigned duties on time, properly care for Company property and cleaning equipment, and promptly report any issues that may affect the cleanliness, safety, or functionality of the site.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SSCE/WAEC/NECO) or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience as a janitor, cleaner, housekeeper, or in a similar role is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform routine cleaning activities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working around staff and visitors.
• Good time management and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and hardworking.

Working Conditions:

• The role is primarily site-based and may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying cleaning materials or equipment.
• The Site Janitor is expected to comply with all site safety requirements and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
